My name is Sarah-Jane Lewis. I am a specialist Speech and Language Therapist and Facial Therapist living just outside Oxford in Wheatley. I graduated from Newcastle University in 2005 with a 1st class degree honours (BSc Speech and Language Sciences). I worked in the NHS for 12 years, specialising in adults for ten years.
I was a Clinical Lead Therapist at the John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford, working extensively with a range of communication and swallowing difficulties in adults, with a specialist interest in neurological conditions.
I was closely involved in the launch of the NHS Oxford Facial Palsy Service, acting as the Facial Therapist for the Region. This stemmed from my background as a Speech & Language Therapist in Neurosciences and a deep interest in working with facial weakness.
I am passionate about making a positive difference to people's lives. Each client is different and brings new concerns, goals and hopes. I aim to work with each person to empower them to achieve their goals, give them more confidence and improve their quality of life. I have a deep interest in the science behind the difficulties people experience, coupled with a desire to lessen the impact it has had on that person and those around them.
